Pavle Avramovic

Director of Research and Policy

Pavle leads applied research and policy engagement on digital finance, emerging technologies, and sustainable development. His work examines how technological innovation can drive inclusive economic growth in developing and developed economies, with particular focus on digital public infrastructure, open finance frameworks, and cross-border regulatory coordination.

Previously, Pavle established the UK Financial Conduct Authority's first Emerging Technologies Hub, creating novel regulatory approaches to quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and privacy-enhancing technologies. He also led the Global Financial Innovation Network during the UK's chair role, coordinating regulatory cooperation across 80+ international members, and led the Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum's horizon scanning workstream on cross-regulatory technology matters.

Pavle holds an MSc in Information Systems and Digital Innovation from the London School of Economics and has authored and contributed to over 25 publications with institutions including the World Economic Forum, Harvard Data Science Review, and the Alan Turing Institute. He serves on the board of UK Finance+, the UK's academic network for financial services research, and is a member of the Global DPI Insights Community. He advises regulators, central banks, and international development organisations on technology governance and digital financial infrastructure.
