  • Eilís Ferran, FBA PhD

    Eilís is Professor of Company and Securities Law at the University of Cambridge, and is the Tom Ivory Professorial Fellow of St Catharine’s College, Cambridge.

    Eilís is the Provost of the Gates Cambridge Trust, overseeing the $300m endowed trust made possible by the historic donation by the Gates Foundation. Between 2015 and 2021 she was the University's Pro Vice Chancellor for Institutional and International Relations.

    Eilís has written extensively on UK, EU and international financial regulation, company law and corporate finance law. She has advised UK Parliamentary committees and served as an academic member of the Stakeholder Group of the European Banking Authority. She is a non-executive director of Euroclear SA/NV and is the Chair of its Nominations and Governance Committee. Eilís is a Fellow of the British Academy and an Honorary Bencher of Middle Temple. Between 2012 and 2015 she served as Chair of the Law Faculty.

  • Timothy Lane, PhD

    Timothy served as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada from February 2009 until his retirement in September 2022. His responsibilities as Deputy Governor covered a series of different areas. From 2014 through July 2018, he was responsible for the Bank’s analysis of international economic developments in support of monetary policy decisions — serving as the Bank’s G7 and G20 Deputy.

    Previously, he was responsible for overseeing the Bank’s work on financial markets (2010–13) and its analysis of Canadian economic developments (2009–10). Prior to joining the Bank, he served for 20 years on the staff of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, DC. During that period, he worked on a wide range of issues and contributed to the IMF’s work on a number of countries.

    Born in Ottawa, Mr. Lane received a BA (Honours) from Carleton University in 1977 and a PhD in economics from the University of Western Ontario in 1983.

  • Lotte Zibell

    Lotte is an international expert in sustainable finance, digital financial innovation, and financial inclusion. She has played a key role in shaping policies and leading initiatives that address emerging challenges in capital markets and financial systems.

    For 19 years, she held various leadership positions at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), including as Senior Advisor to the Director General, Regional Director for the Pacific Liaison and Coordination Office, and Chief of Finance Sector Group. Prior to joining ADB, she served as Director for International Economic Policy at the Swedish Ministry of Finance and held positions at the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority and the Swedish Central Bank. She has also worked as a consultant for the International Monetary Fund.
